Coatings Survey Course

Fitz-Coatings Limited has launched the Coatings Radar App, a complementary tool for the online Coatings Survey Course offered by the Corrodere Academy.

This course is approved by esteemed organisations such as the Royal Society of Chemistry, the Institute of Corrosion, and Lloyds Register.

The Coatings Radar App is compatible with iPhones, iPads, iMacs, Android phones, and tablets. It provides all the necessary information for Coating Surveyors to produce concise and consistent reports.

The 360-degree software allows users to assess tanks and steelwork, both new and old, for various levels of corrosion based on the Re and Ri Standards.

The App has been designed to be used in various industries, including Marine, offshore (Oil, Gas and Wind), Petrochemical and Infrastructure.

The Coatings Radar App can be used both online and offline.

Fitz’s Atlas of Coating Defects

Fitz’s Atlas has introduced an update to the Coating Defects App. This update includes hot dip galvanised defects and motor vehicle coating defects, in addition to the existing protective coating defects.

The App now features a microscopy section that provides detailed information on paint and coating samples, as well as laboratory analysis.

The hot dip galvanised update incorporates various defects such as wet storage stains, discolouration, pimples, flux staining, spangled coating, and many more. Users can use this information to determine if any rectification work is required or if the subject complies with ISO Standards like ISO 1461.

Motor vehicle coating defects have also been included in the update. These defects cover adhesion loss, bleeding, chipping, cracking, dry spray, lifting, and others. Each defect is visually represented in two different colours.

One of the unique features of the app is live videos that showcase different coating defects. The app is accessible on Apple and Android smartphones and tablets.
